Portfolio assessment is an assessment method which emerged in America in the later 1980s. In 1990s, portfolio assessment has been more and more applied in western countries and mainly used in collecting the students' works in a particularly subject in order to show their work, progress and achievement in this subject.Recent years, with the basic educational curriculum reform, the old educational assessment system can not meet the requirement of the development of new curriculum. Many problems exist between the assessment and exam systems and the new curriculum, including the over-emphasis on the quantity methods and selection functions and the ignorance of the quality investment and development. Students are the objects of assessment instead of the main part of learning. Being kept out of the assessment process, they can't take part in it.As the constantly development of the new curriculum reform, many schools adopt Portfolio assessment, this new assessment style. Thought the practical experience, I make an investment to the Portfolio assessment, focusing on the mastery of knowledge and technique, and the results of mathematics learning. I pay more attention on the formation and development of their mental and emotion as well as their change and development during learning process. Through this investment, I aim to reveal that mathematics Portfolio assessment which can absolutely promote the development of the students, help the student constantly check and adjust their studies during the learning process so as to form a sound self-regulated system. Based on this, I will try to research and build a mathematics Portfolio assessment system which can both suits the new curriculum and promote the foundation of a new student's assessment system which is good for the students' development.
