Research On High School Geography Teaching Practice Portfolio Assessment

In June, 2001 the Ministry of Education of China promulgated "The outline of the. elementary education Curriculum reform (Implementation)". In 2003 "the Ordinary High School Curriculum Plan (Experiment)" and 15 curriculum standards were issued formually. It is pointed out in the plan that developmental evaluatian system" should be developed", "the evaluation should be improved and an evaluation methed combing the marks and the grouth records should be implemented." This has set off a wave of reforming appraisal. How to use the portfolio assessment in geography teaching becomes an important issue the middle school geography educators must face.This research, based on the actuall situation of the high school geography teaching, studies how to apply the porftolio assessment in the students' geography study in the high school teaching practice. It includes five parts as follows:The first part discusses the basic principles and methods of the portfolio assessment. Built on the domestic and foreign newest research results, the foundatal principles and methods of portfolio assessment are elaborated in this part.The secand part studies the predominant types of implement of the portfolio assessment in high school geography teaching, as well as the process and methods of establishing the geography portfolio assessment then I develop the procedure of implemanting the geography portfolio assessment.The third part explores how to set up the measures of the geography portfolio assessment and draws up the mease adapt to the high school geography portfolio assessment. This provides the operation of the portfolio assessment with technical support.The forth part is a practical and case study on high school geography study porftolio assessment.The fifth part studies the management the geography portfolio assessment and the application of by discusseing the management and the application of the traditional paper portfolio assessment, as well as that of the electronic portfolio assessment.Finally, the viewpoints of this are reconsidered and summarized, the research flaws and the direction of the future study are pointed out, too.
