Resource-based Virtual Learning Community Development And Practice

The forthcoming digital living environment in the 21st century puts forward the completely new challenge and request to our education including the goal, content, method and means etc.. The limitations of traditional patterns to study are becoming more and more obvious. The emergence of opening study and lifelong study urges it to transform ultimately. The development of information technology, especially the development of Internet and communication technology quickens the transmission of information and output of knowledge greatly. So how to face and make use of so large amount of information and how to exert the virtual world of Internet to help our study are the problems that education field must take into deep consideration. Through the investigation of 130 sophomores in Nanjing Institute of Industry and Technology, this study found that almost all the college students of the time have the ability to use Internet, but they dont realize that Internet is a large resources storeroom for study. They haven't cultivated the capability and consciousness to make use of the abundant resources nearby to study independently. At the same time, there is a serious lack of teachers' guidance in this aspect. Therefore to improve undergraduate information accomplishment and to instruct them to make wide use of varieties of resources (especially the internet resources) to help their study are the problems that our education under new circumstances must solve.Through the in-depth research on the theory to study on the basis of resources and the careful investigation of the existent virtual study community and Internet courses, this thesis thinks that the purpose of studying on the basis of resources is to teach students how to use varieties of resources to study independently. This kind of learning pattern should be the mainstream of school education from now on. The virtual study community makes full use of modern Internet, breaks the limit of time and space, and makes the opening study reification. So to build the virtual study community guided by the theory to study on the basis of resources can cultivate students' ability to use diverse learning resources and improve their information accomplishment effectively. It is helpful to meet the contemporary request for opening study and lifelong study.Taking the course < the multimedia design foundation > that the writer is teaching for example to build up a virtual study community on the basis of resources, this thesis probes into the design principle .method and detailed use of the community, and at the same time develops the evaluation methods of students' information ability.
