School-centered theory and researcher teacher theory have been widely recognized and practiced in the field of school education as the curriculum power is not controlled by central bureau any more in the process of the elementary school curriculum reform. Moreover, teaching studies based on school-centered theory has become a hot and pioneering subject in the present-day education reform.Curriculum reform is a new challenge for teachers'professional ability, insufficiency of which has hindered the practice of new curriculum. One of the fundamental approaches to the development of this kind of professional ability is to do research on teaching. Unfortunately, teachers have long been outside the circle of researchers. It is the theorists'privilege to do research on teaching although teachers do have the ability and some advantages of their own to carry out research. Furthermore they should be the major group in the development of this field. On the basis of this theory this paper attempts to present how Primary School Attached to Shandong Normal University has practiced the school-centered educational theory and finally reach the conclusion that school-centered educational theory is an efficient way of teachers'professional ability development. The main aim of this paper is to call on the attention of people who work in the field of education, perfect the traditional model of teachers'professional ability development, and eventually improve our teaching level to make more children get good education.The paper includes three parts which are mostly practical studies. The first part introduces some basic notions of school-centered educational theory. School-centered educational theory is the combination of study, work and researches both the school and teachers are involved. The object is the variety of practical questions that teachers may be faced with in the practice of the new curriculum. Teachers, the subject of this study, together with theorists and professionals, are all involved in it. It has a direct purpose of developing both teachers and students. Some characteristics are quite distinguished: subjects participating in the study, definite objects, the purpose of improving, the reflective process and the open result. Reflecting on practice, co-operation among participants and having certain majors lead the road are the common forms of school-centered educational theory. It is the best way of improving teachers'professional development.The second part is the main body. Firstly there is a general introduction of the Primary School Attached to Shandong Normal University and the previous school-centered education. Then the topic is discussed in great detail from 4 aspects: reflecting on practice, co-operation among participants, case study in teaching and having certain majors lead the road.
