The time management disposition reflects the way that individual makes use of and controls his time, and it can be considered as a kind of personality trait which is a multi-dimension and multi-level mental structure. Self-esteem, which is one of the important components of the self-system, has intensive effects on thinking, emotion and behavior. It is not only close related to mental health but also play an critical important role in the development of personality. The problem that how should we develop individual self-esteem hasn' t been settled. The concept of time management disposition let us study individual self-esteem from a new angle, and its characteristic of the trainable will provide a practical way to develop and foster self-esteem.With the participants of middle school students, the aim of this research is to combine time management disposition, self-esteem and academic performance, and deeply analyses the relation of the three factors. The findings are manifested in the results.First, time management disposition of middle school students has close relationship with their explicit self-esteem and academic performance. Time management disposition has a direct influence on explicit self-esteem and academic performance. Furthermore, time management disposition has indirect influence on explicit self-esteem through academic performance.Second, the sense of time efficacy mediated the relation between the sense of time value, time control and explicit self-esteem, academic performance. In other words, the sense of time value and time control have indirect influence on academic performance, and the sense of time value has indirect influence on academic performance and explicit self-esteem through the sense of time control and time efficacy, and the sense of time control has indirect influence on academic performance and explicit self-esteem through time efficacy.Third, there is low correlation between time management disposition (feedback, efficacy of time management behavior), explicit self-esteem and implicit self-esteem.
