With the rapid progress in science and technology in contemporary society and the increasingly fast updating of knowledge, learning is becoming a lifelong task because it is impossible for everyone to learn all the knowledge that can be applied in all his life. Therefore, teaching the students how to study efficiently as well as training their studying abilities is now the fundamental task in current education in schools. And the most important symbol of the studying abilities is whether a person has an efficient learning strategy.Actually there seems to be a problem during biology teaching in high schools that some students are still not adapted to this new subject after a long period of learning biology. They simply do not know how to study biology well keep asking their teachers for some good learning methods. This shows that it is really very difficult to enable our students to find a better way of learning biology all by themselves. At least it will take a long time to do that. They need some instructions of learning strategy. In other words, the teaching of learning strategy is a weak part in biology teaching. As a result, it is necessary to train the students' learning strategy in biology teaching theoretically as well as practically.Organize strategies and elaboration strategies are two important learning strategies in biology teaching. This text will discuss the two important learning strategies based on the characteristics of biology and the real studying situation in students' learning. In addition, this text will also discuss some research of the two important learning strategies concerning other learning strategies.The research uses the comparing experiment method. That is our experiment groups apply organize strategies and elaboration strategies to teaching practice. The purpose is to study the effects of the two strategies and the factors that will affect those effects of the training of the learning strategy.The result of the experiment shows that applying organize strategies and elaboration strategies based on the characteristics of biology and the real situation of the students can greatly improve the student's scores, reading comprehension and self-efficacy. The effect in students' score is remarkable for all the students especially for middle level and slow students.
