Sports training process consists of six essential parts: diagnosis of athletes' initial state, establishment of training goals, development of training plans, implementation of training activities, check and evaluation of training process, and achievement of training controlment and goals. However, the whole process is influenced by internal factors, such as physical, psychological factors, and external factors, such as social and environment factors. It displays a feature of complexity and instability. The instability results from the instability of factors and instable relationship between factors. Therefore, we should apply an approach of uncertainty math in the study of sports training process.Since its founding by Professor Deng Ju-long in 1982, Gray system theory's structure and application has been enriched and developed in the past twenty years. Because of its function in modeling and analysis of systems of short period, less statistics and incomplete information, gray system theory is applied widely in social, scientific and technological studies. At present, it is one of the most efficient approaches of new science and technology in the sports research. Although its application in sports training is not new, its research methods are mainly in the field of gray relevance analysis and forecast of scores, and its research items are mainly diagnosis and evaluation of measurable athletic abilities. There lacks a systematic research on theory and methodology in sports training process. On the basis of a systematic analysis, this thesis applies gray model, and studies the organization and management in sports training process. The major researches are as follows.1. Diagnosis of athletesThe approach consists of gray relevance analysis of different features and functions. The multi-level compositive diagnosis system can diagnose structure problems of the whole, different levels and elements, and can bring the problem of space-time change into the system of diagnosis. 2. Establishment of sports training goalsDifferent training phases need different goals. Based on the qualitative analysis and GM (1,1) model, many gray forecast models are established, including the models of a turning period, multi elements, or a wave tendency, in order to promote the feasibility and veracity of the establishment of training goals.3. Development of training plansOn the basis of diagnosis of different athletic difficulties, practical training plans are developed through decomposing of training phases by GM (1,N) and gray multi-objective programming model.4. Implementation of training activitiesFirst, variation diagnosis will be applied for changes in instant information sequence of numbers through gray information difference measure in the process of implementation of sports training. Second, new information forecast controlment will be implemented on the basis of gray information difference measure analysis by gray three-statistics model. Third, training approaches will be optimized by gray level decision method.5. Evaluation and adjustment of sports training processFirst, sports training effects will be evaluated by gray statistics clustering and gray relevance multi-level evaluation. Second, adjustment on training gray matrix will be implemented by gray controlment through the establishment of gray matrix of various sports items. Third, sports training guidelines will be revised to the original planning goal to optimize training plans.
