Inspirations Of "Baoding Sports Phenomenon-Amateur Training" To Training System Reform Of Competitive Sports In China

This article attempts to research on and explore, through literature review, interview survey and questionnaire, the "Baoding Sports Phenomenon" with focus on amateur training systems, as Baoding has long been famed for "City of Sports" and "Cradle of Champions"The amateur training practice for Baoding competitive sports takes three forms:national training system, private training club, and combination of sports and education, which are called "Three Systems" in short.Organizations based on national sports system are public personnel institutions, while private training clubs are operated by private owners on a market basis within the framework of law. Combination of sports and education refers to school-based training system, which may be a school sports team or a sports team trained at school after an agreement between the school and a private sports club.The "Three Systems" share the same purpose—to cultivate sports talents for high-level sports teams, and each has its own strong points. After careful investigation, interviews and research, the author got the following inspirations:1. Objective of reform:multi-dimensional integrationA multi-dimensional trend is found through questionnaires in terms of parents'motivation of sending children to sports teams, and their concern and understanding of sports. The same trend is also concluded from the psychological experiences of the children when doing sports. Multi-dimension is the achievement of reform and at the same time the practical basis of continuing reform, which is therefore supposed to be the reform objective of competitive sports training system.2. Operating system:commercializationThe social reform of the country aims to establish a social development model where social resources are mainly allocated based on market, with planning a necessary supplement. Currently the "Three Systems" in Baoding are all paid training, which is market based and, in fact, in agreement with the national social reform objective. However, due to the differences in operating systems, they manifest different degrees of commercialization.Besides, inspirations can also be drawn from the scientific, legalized and localized management of the armature sports training systems in Baoding.
