Our Local Institutions Orientation

In competition among different colleges and universities in China, every college belongs to certain "division of labor" due to the differences in its resources and natural disposition. Accordingly, only when every college is well aware of its own position in all schools can it bring itself a bright prospect.Position of local college, which is an indispensable part of higher education system of China, not only decides its own survival and development, but also plays an important role in the national higher education progress. And local college now faces increasingly fierce competition because of higher demand for talents. "Locality" is the base of existence and development of local college. It is the urgent task for local college to orient itself to meeting the requirements of local economic and social development, put itself in a right position and reflect on how to develop the school.This thesis applies literature and case study to research the connotation, philosophy and principles, and factors of local college position. And the author cites Nanjing Xiaozhuang College as a case and gives a tentative analysis of its position.
