Rural education plays the role of foundation, forerunner and a matter of overall importance in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. To a great extend, the development of rural education depends on the wealth of rural teachers, who are the key of carrying out quality-oriented education and curriculum reforming.However, with the establishment of socialist market economy of our country and the expanding of economic discrepancy among different regions, the drainage of teachers in developing area becoming severe day by day. It has greatly restrained the development of elementary in poor area, the fact needed to be studied. The drainage of teachers is the pain of rural education, it makes the condition worse and worse, which will affect the building of a harmonious socialist society and the development of rural education in the future.By taking P county in Jiangxi province as case-study and using field investigation, this essay tries to find out the real reason of the drainage of teachers in developing area. The essay describes the life condition of teachers in rural, and then analyzed the influence of the policy concerned. And also interviewed some of them. Through analyzing the external factor, got the result that it is policy but not others lead the gap of education between urban and rural, and it brings about the drainage of rural teachers.To hold back the drainage of teachers in rural area shoulders heavy responsibilities and have significant effect. In the last part of the essay the author give the counter measures of the investigation in P county and also give some suggestions at the angle of policy.
