Vocational Students Self-esteem

Self-esteem is an individual's positive emotional observation of self-value which is derived from constant social weighing and checking. In this article, we have researched the self-esteem of higher vocational college students', the factors affecting higher vocational college students'self-esteem and the relationship between self-esteem and life satisfaction adopting such research methods as educational investigation, mental measurement, case study, interview, summarizing the experience and document survey. The conclusions have been gotten as follows:1.The self-esteem scale score of higher vocational college students is 28.1378±3.3785, the self-esteem scale score of senior middle school students is 28.9310±3.1670, the Self-esteem level of higher vocational college students is worse than the self-esteem level of senior middle school students.2. Sex, grade, source, the only child in the family, family classification, parent's vocations and family economic status have no important effect on higher vocational college students'self-esteem; sex, grade, source, the only child in the family, family classification and family economic status had no important effect on senior middle school students'self-esteem. Academic achievement affects the development of higher vocational college students'self-esteem and senior middle school students'self-esteem; student cadre affects the development of higher vocational college students'self-esteem but have no important effect on senior middle students'self-esteem; father's vocation had no important effect on senior middle school students'self-esteem and mother's vocation affects the senior middle school students'self-esteem.3. Higher vocational college students'self-esteem is correlated with life-satisfaction and the correlating coefficient is 0.329.
