In recent years, the employment of university students has become a hot issue whichis concerned by people from all walks of life. For the reasons of why it is hard to find ajob for university students, the researcher analyzes from the aspects of the demand oflabor force, the supply of labor force and labor force market; however, this paper explainsit in the aspect of social capital, another important issue that influences the employmentof university students.This paper will coordinate the theoretical research of social capital from home andabroad and its relationship with the research of employment; then it will educe the statusquo of social capital resources used by the graduates of higher learning institutions by asurvey data towards the 500 graduates who came to Qingdao University in 2006. At last,this paper will discuss the methods of how to increase the influences of social capitaltowards the employment of university students, and will also give some policysuggestions combined with the research results:(1) To increase the store amounts of thesocial capital of university students' employment: The society should take some positivemeasures to harmonize the inequality of social capital; the university should completelyrealize the important role of social capital for the university students' employment, givemore attention to this aspect, and positively enlarge the social capital of higher learninginstitution, the faculties of higher learning institutions and the social capital foremployment of the graduates themselves. (2) To increase the capability of the usage ofsocial capital: To increase the capability of the usage of social capital for employmentpublicly and to increase the capability of the usage of social capital for employmentprivately. Demonstrative analysis and normative analysis are used to analyze the relatedcontents in this paper, and the main methodologies of this paper are documental statementapproaches, questionnaire approaches, interviewing approaches, and comparative andanalytical approaches.
