Aesthetics education plays an important role in modern education. However, with the guide of exam-oriented education and the influences of traditional teaching idea, the aesthetic education has been unvalued for long time. The connotation of aesthetic education even also has been obscured with other education types. People often confuse aesthetic education with moral education. People also take aesthetic education as art education and replace it with art education.This paper discussed the essence and existing of Chinese aesthetic teaching from 5 aspects, educational purposes, function, characteristics, actualization and focus. This paper also improved that the aesthetic teaching of Chinese discipline exerts a profound influence in aesthetic education because of the teaching carrier of Chinese discipline. Aesthetic education can improve students' overall quality, which is important for promoting the reform in Chinese teaching and benefit for quality-oriented education. In the course of Chinese teaching, the blazing emotion of literary works can shake students' soul and can make the students produce the moving feeling, admiration from their heart. Therefore, it has formed the unique educational function of Chinese teaching in aesthetic education. Therefore, it has formed the unique educational function of Chinese teaching in aesthetic education, which could lead to goodness, trueness, healthiness and industriousness. The aesthetic teaching of Chinese discipline has four characteristics, visualization, infection, creation and mutual interaction. The teacher should make the students realize language aesthetic, appreciate imagination beauty and savor the thought in the literary works. The teacher also should give the students freedom and induce them to create beauty according to their imagination. The aesthetic teaching of Chinese discipline should pay more attention on the students' research. At the same time, the teaching method should be selected flexibly in the completion of the task of Chinese teaching, in order to bring up the students with innovative talents for the new century.
