China's modernization began difficultly and roughly after western power flowed into. China marked the beginning of China's modern education evolution subsequently. In the education reform process, modern education, including overseas education and vocational education, mounted the stage of history. Modern China's overseas education's deduction opened the door of exchanging with the world. Vocational education on the upsurge in such exchanges was introduced to China. Although these two forms of education have their own development paths respectively, the overseas education's notable function is to introduce the foreign educational resources to China and gives fresh things to China's education. The vocational education is an "import". This character shows that it learned from the foreign education resources. Therefore, the two educations are inextricably linked in the process of China's modern education evolution. While the close relationship helped to bring about the maturity of these two kinds of education and influenced the whole China's modern education positively. The thesis is divided into five parts to narrate the emerge and the developing process of China's overseas education and vocational education. What's more, it analyses the mutual affecting and promoting relationship between the two kinds of education.The first part is in the Westernization period. Nurturing new talents to save the nation's poverty and caused China's vocational education to emerge and the first overseas education to launch. This gave a good start for the two kinds of education to pursue their common development. The second part is in late Qing dynasty, including Restoration and"New Deal"periods. Studying from Japan is a new way of learning from the West that Chinese seek. Vocational education was first established in the GuiMao school system. Overseas education had given great positive impact to vocational education's institutionalizing. The new vocational education system also gave vocational education a new perspective which is studying industry subjects from Japan. This has contributed to a tide of vocational overseas education and was conducive to the overseas education's prosperity. So in the late Qing Dynasty, these two kinds of education is an interactive, mutually reinforcing relationship. The third part is in the early ROC period. Studying abroad changed to Europe and the United States. Vocational education also continued to develop and gradually evolved from industrial education to vocational education. In early ROC period, the two kinds of education appeared more closely related to each other. Overseas education directly affected the vocational education system to establish and the theory to mature. With the development of vocational education itself, to a certain extent, it also promoted the overseas education. The forth part is in the period of Campaign work-study program in France Movement. This unique sort of overseas education and the vocational education which was in its golden period have given deep inspiration each other, promoting each other. They just played a very important role in China's education history. The last part sums up the development and reform of overseas education and vocational education from 1872 to 1927 and their relationship, like two wheels of a car and two wings of a bird. This kind of relationship gives present China's overseas education and vocational education enlightenment.
