The Months Of The Anthropological Survey: To The Old Village Of Western Hunan, For Example

Up to now, the research of the phenomenon that the residential workteam in countryside is rare in academic world. And the using ofanthropology research method, that is, the research which is from theperspective of anthropology and the utilizing of field work is much less.This is because theory research takes the main part in country politicalresearch and focus on democracy politics; the other reason is becausesociologists and anthropologists have not entered into this field and havennot outspreaded the residence work in countryside.In recent two years residential work team expedited by someprovincial government entered Xiangxi Lao Village and expanded thework of poverty reduction and construction of new countryside. Thispaper is about the field study of the residence in Lao Village by deepinterview and participant observation in recent three months and thenotice of residence work in about one year's time. The author obtains alot of field and literature material of residence work. Based on thesematerials, this paper is focus on two points: First, the institution andhistory background of residential work team; Second, the interactionbetween common villagers and leaders of the village, county and town inthe process of residential work. About the first point, the research ismainly about the history of poverty reduction in our country, theinstitution of poor reducing and the residential work team before theresearch. The research of the second point shows the process of the workof residence of work team and the interaction between different parties byway of narrating. The two parts dividing is based on the consideration ofthe writing culture in ethnography of anthropology. By the dividing ofdifferent chapters of countryside construction and the interaction betweenvillagers, the paper could achieve the effect of seeing the local socialculture as a whole.As a research paper of the residing area in Miao and Hannationalities in Xiangxi District, the paper does not involve every part ofthe local culture as the classic ethnography. The author wishes to presenta picture of the work of residence by the description of the interaction ofvillagers and outsiders. This picture is rather scientific and impersonality than the trying of making text by the author. This shows understandingand presentation of the state-society relationship and cultural change inlocal countryside.
