As we know, no matter the principal accountability system in China or School-based Management aboard, the role of principal plays a very important part in the development of a school. At the same time, the competence of the principal is also very important for himself. So if you want to do some research on the role of principal, you' d better do some research on principal' s abilities at first. At present, the current social situation has been changing. And at the same time, under the circumstance of transformation of the education and schools, the principal professionalization gets more and more popular. No doubt, the competences of professional principal become quite different. How to construct the competences of professional principal in order to satisfy the needs of modern education and school management? According to the domestic and international requirements for the competence of principals, the essay discusses the new ways of constructing the competence system of principals under the assumption of the principal professionalization.In the first part of the essay, it is the background information and the meaning of the research and the explanation of the related concepts. At the same time, the research material on the principal' s competence in China and abroad has been collected and recognized. The second part is the background information and meaning of principal' s professionalization, which is the premise and foundation of the essay. The third part is the main part of the essay, and it' s about the construction of the principal' s professional competences. In this part, the author tries to divide the principal' s professional abilities into two main parts: the basic management abilities and special professional abilities. Ulteriorly, the basic management abilities can be divided into the following parts: the abilities of decision-making, the abilities of planning, and the ability of leadership, the ability of prompting, the ability of communicating and the ability of innovating. And the special professional abilities can be divided into the following parts: the ability of teaching, the ability of school-running, the ability of shaping culture of a school, the ability of education research, the ability of exploiting and managing the human resources, the ability of dealing with the crisis in a school and the ability of cultivating core competitiveness of a school. With these elements of abilities, the essay tries to construct a more scientific abilities frame for our principals. The fourth part is the investigation and views on the Principal' s Professional competence. The fifth part, that is also the last part of the essay, that is the conclusion and shortcomings of the essay.
