Passing and digging the ball are two basic skills in volleyball, which are veryimportant in matches. The mastery and application of.these two skills affect thewhole match directly. If the beginners want to have a match, these two skills areeven more important. In common course, teachers pay much attention to the criterionof the skills, but not enough to the application. After study, students can mastersingle volleyball skill and pass the examination. But during the match, they can notapply the skills well. The match is often in the situation of "out of play", with limitedback and forth balls.This essay adopts the method of literature review, studying the related documents,teaching program and volleyball books. It also has questionnaires on volleyballteachers and experts. After two rounds of teaching experiments, the author carried outthe experiment study of students' application ability on passing and digging ball duringthe general course of volleyball.On the basis of experiments and survey, taking the rules and characteristics ofvolleyball tactics into consideration, analyzing the factors that affecting the applicationability of the students, referring to the advantages of traditional teaching, this essaystudies how to enhance the application ability of the students, to make the studentsunderstand the rules of volleyball and master the basic skills in limited class hours. Itstudies how to make students have a better understanding of the rules andcharacteristics of volleyball, foster their court sense and make them master and applythe basic skills of volleyball. It also studies how to make best of the limited class hoursand improve the actual effect of volleyball teaching.The findings show that:1,According to characteristics of volleyball, improving the skills of passing anddigging is essential and actable during the limited class hours of common course.2,Improving the skills of passing and digging involve the court sense, observationand judgment ability, feet moving ability, sports sensing ability the correct choice of a certain skill, etc.3,In the beginning of studying these skills, the teacher should attach importance tothe major link of the skills, to make students form correct dynamic stereotype anddevelop skill sense. Later, the teacher can adapts comprehensive moving practice, toimprove students' craftiness and practicability of the skills. On the basis of those, theteacher can add passing and digging cooperation practice of three students or more.And, the teacher can arrange the practice at court with specific locations as soon aspossible. The teacher can foster the students' court sense and strain capacity throughprogressive type assembling practice of different passing and digging skills.
