Scientific quality and attainment is one of the important qualities that a modern student should have, and our science education is to improve students'scientific quality and attainment."The course of criterion science in junior school"aims at developing students to gain science quality and attainment. This research has studied inquiry learning in theory and practice. The purpose is to improve students'inquiry ability in science teaching.Part one, general discussion, gives a brief introduction to the concept, mode and relative theory of inquiry learning. It also introduces the development of inquiry learning in country and outside country, the characteristic of science teaching, the necessary work of inquiry teaching in science curriculum.Part two is the explanation about how to enforce inquiry learning in science teaching. It introduces the investigation of inquiry attitude, inquiry ability and cooperation attitude of students before research and some important work in inquiry teaching. For example, the formation of inquiry group, proper evaluation and how to choose the suitable course to inquire.Part three is the main body of the work-practice research. This part explains how to carry out inquiry learning in science teaching. We choose three different examples of inquiry learning with proper evaluation. It may tell you how to operate inquiry learning.Part four is the discussion and conclusion. Through one year's experiment our students make progress in different aspects. The outcome has demonstrated that inquiry learning is effective and the research solves some study problems. Based on the study result, further studies on the practice of inquiry learning are also discussed.
