The high development of the information society demands that the education can be able to train the new talented person to adapt to information society. At the same time, it also has provided the environment and condition for the development of the education. In such circumstances, the WebQuest model arises at the historic moment.The paper introduces the background and advantage of the WebQuest model, explains the significance of the theoretical analysis and the practice studies to this model, and then presents the model's definition, type, element and frame, templates, valuation standard etc detailedly.Based on these introductions, the paper systematically discusses the relation between the WebQuest model and the four-big pillars of the future education brought forward by 21 centuries education conference from the pedagogies visual angle, and uses the constructivism to explain the WebQuest model element and the frame from the psychology visual angle.In the paper practice part, the teacher has made use of this model to carry out the course the Modern Education Technology to academician of chemistry in Shanghai Normal University who will graduate in 2007 in order to know the application of the WebQuest model. And the teacher has also carried out a questionnaire when the course was over. The paper counts the result of that questionnaire, analyses the WebQuest model's advantage and defects, and advances the suggestions to perfect this model.The finality of this paper makes rethought to the WebQuest model deeply. It remarks the limitation for the use of this model and brings forward the corresponding countermeasure to look forward to being able to help to use this model favorably.
