Case Study upon the Application of HPS teaching model combining with WebQuest teaching model for Chemistry-History in High School[Abstract] This Paper is a case study upon History of chemistry instruction design. In the teaching of Synthetic Ammonia, we used HPS teaching model combining with WebQuest teaching model,and enforce this instruction design,and result analysis..First,History of Chemistry is a systemic formulation upon the development history of chemistry science, which recorded faithfully those major events that had impacted the history of chemistry development. It is the history that chemists perceived and rebuilt this world. It showed the conceptual work that the chemists had ever done, the scientific methods that they had used and scientific spirits and morality that they had possessed during they discovering the chemistry rules. To introduce chemistry history in the class teaching of chemistry has been focused on more and more widely and the acknowledgement to the value of chemistry history become more and more profoundly. Now, HPS teaching model and WebQuest teaching model are the prevalent teaching methods both at home and abroad. These models, basing on constructivism study theory, centralizing on the students and under the step-by-step direction of teachers, introduce the history of chemistry in class teaching reasonably, utilize network resources to complete the given study tasks and improve students'cognizing capacity and power of resolving problems. They are the typical examples of teaching-model research results for network courses/programs.In this study, we regarded the senior high school students from No.1 High School of Changchun who enrolled in 2005 as our study objects. In the teaching of Synthetic Ammonia, we used HPS teaching model combining with WebQuest teaching model, and applied comprehensively the results analysis, comparison study, questionnaire survey as well as evaluation study, etc., from which, we proved that WebQuest teaching method may improve students'interesting and efficiency of studying chemistry.WebQuest teaching method is a new-birth thing, therefore, it may contain some unavoidable problems and shortness. This paper may provide an idea for studying WebQuest teaching method for the future. And I hope that all teaching staff may make efforts together to gain better achievements.
