With the idea"for the sake of each students'future"as the soul of new curriculum of senior schools, the senior chemistry course aims to improve the students'attainment in chemistry so as to lay a solid foundation for their future study. Therefore quality education catering to the basic needs of the whole students should be fulfilled in teaching practice. However, polarity in academic grades appears due to various reasons, among which the most common is the dislocation between teaching and learning practice. For the traditional teaching methods in coping with the difficult points in teaching progress, some of them have been proved inappropriate or ineffective to carry the knowledge on to the students. Fortunately, with the improvement of computer technology, multimedia is becoming more and more heavily involved in modern teaching practice, which provides new scientific means and greatly increases the possibility of cracking the hard nuts in teaching.Based on the combination of educational theories and years of teaching experience and also some proper adaptation from other reference books, the writer probed into the case and shared her personal experience with the readers.Starting from the students'angle, understanding difficulties may arise from the five aspects below:⑴contradiction between the insufficient perceptual knowledge of the students and the abstruseness of teaching materials;⑵contradiction between the limited memory and the overelaborate and tedious knowledge points;⑶contradiction between the students'inability of recognition and the similarity of some knowledge points⑷the students'having difficulty imagining a microcosmos of chemistry⑸contradiction between the students'poor reasoning power and the increasing abstruseness of teaching materialsIf we, the teachers, analyze the current teaching materials and procedures, we will find understanding obstacles also appear due to the three reasons below:⑴inappropriate arrangement of teaching materials ⑵inappropriate arrangement of teaching procedures⑶failure in conducting the chemistry experiments through which some key points hard to explain can be illustrated and explainedGuided by the rules of psychology and pedagogy, the writer probed into how traditional teaching could benefit from the application of multimedia technology in specific cases of teaching practice and how to give it a full play so as to solve the above-mentioned problems. The essay consists of seven parts. A general introduction is brought in Section One, and Section Two probes into the various difficult points found in teaching practice. The advantage of the application of multimedia in teaching can be found in Section Three and four we can see relevant theoretical basis in the following section. Based on the analysis of the specific cases above, the writer provides the readers with solutions involving the application of multimedia. Combined with my own teaching experiences, the writer comes to a conclusion in Section Six: The application of multimedia in teaching practice does help to crack the hard nuts in teaching and facilitates the students understanding the difficult points. Section Seven, the last part, deals with the prospect as well as some details concerning the application of multimedia in senior schools'teaching practice: The application of multimedia can't and shouldn't take the place of those traditional ones and a more balanced relationship needs to be found between the teachers, students and itself. Only when it is used in a scientific way can we make the best use of it.
