College Counselors Professional Inquiry

Instructors are an important part of the staffs of a university. They play a key role in the moral and political education of university students and serve as a director for students's healthy development. Nowadays, professionalism has become the direction and a new stage of the development of instructors. Obvious achievements have been made since educational authorities at all levels took actions to strengthen the building of instructor group which, however, can still not meet the present need of students' ideological and political education. Problems like unclear job orientation, incomplete system, indefinite future and irrational distribution policy still exist, which make the professionaliam process of this group slow and backward. As a result, it is of great necessity to study the professionalism of college instructor group and this will help to stablize this group, improve instructors' qualities and build a group of instructors who are strong in politics, excellent in job and intense in work.Through deliminating the present connotation of the professionalism of college instructor, the thesis, falling into four sections, conducts a detailed analysis of the development of the professionalism of college instructor.Section One: a historical review of the emergence and development of college instructor system. By comparing the development of college instructor system with the development of management of college students' affairs in foreign nations, the thesis furthur confirms the historical necessity of the professionalism of college instuctors and lays a foundation for the study of ways to realize the professionalism of college instructors.Section Two: the thesis makes a new orientation for the professionalism of college instructor. It justifies the necessity of such professionalism from theory and practice.Section Three: through an analysis of the problems in the professionalism process, the thesis tries to find out the hindering reasons and corresponding solutions.Section Four: in order to realize the professionalism of instructors, the thesis proposes to take measures in six aspects: deepen understanding, amplify system, search for carrier, strengthen support from relevant subjects, create favorable environment and study further.
