One of main characteristic is the establishment of elective courses during the Innovation of New curriculum in high school. As a special course system, it will affect realization of course function that whether the curriculum structure of elective courses is reasonable and scientific. With the optimization design of curriculum structure, students have access to the combination of all—round development of human being and the development of the individual, and realize quality education. The thesis discusses the curriculum structure of elective courses from three angles, course function, decision and form, provides the more detailed literature reviews on development of curriculum structure history of elective courses in high school, tries to deeply distinguish and analyze the difference on the three aspects between China and America, studies on the cause of the formation. The specific ideas are put forward for the optimization design of curriculum structure of elective courses in our high school based on them, which is hoped to contribute to the successful implement of elective courses in high school.There are four chapters in the paper.Chapter one: introduction. The study survey related to elective courses and curriculum structure, cause of topic selection, intention of the thesis and the sense of the research are introduced.Chapter two: The chapter makes clear of the concept of elective courses and curriculum structure, briefly introduces theoretical basis for the thesis, reviews on the history of curriculum structure of elective courses development in high school, analyses the necessity of the reform in it.Chapter three: From the perspective of course decision, form and function, the chapter compares and analyzes deeply curriculum structure of elective courses in high school, summarizes the differences and similarities on it between China and America according to example and data, studies on the reasons for the formation all-round.Chapter four: Adopting previous paper, the author put forward for the three optimization steps of curriculum structure of elective courses in our high school for reference with pertinence, which involve idea, action and supporting.
