Looking back on the world, the establishment and development of secondary elective courses have had a history of more than one hundred years. In China, due to the one-sided understanding of training objectives and the impact of careers education, most secondary schools only attach the importance to compulsory courses while neglecting elective ones. In the context of the new high school curriculum reform, elective courses have gradually become issues of concern in the field of education. Standard secondary school language courses (experiment), which was issued in April.2003, is divided into two parts---compulsory courses and elective courses. This book has achieved an unprecedented breakthrough reform and beyond. The creation of new elective courses is the highlight of the curriculum reform. So how to implement the schedule has become the biggest difficulty of the curriculum reform. The creation of elective courses and teaching success are directly related to the overall effect of curriculum experiment promotion. The design for elective courses is basely a programmatic text.In the concrete implementation, we will inevitably encounter a lot of specific operational strategy remained to be studied, and some rational thinking should be given to the confusion encountered in the actual operation. In order to ensure the science, order and efficient implementation of elective courses, we must discuss the language issues on high school elective courses deeply from various links so as to establish a scientific operation system.This paper looks back at history, looks closely at the current situation, points out problems and puts forward proposals.The whole passage includes three parts: introduction, body and conclusion, and the body consists of four chapters. Introduction: stating the origin of the problems, defining the relevant concepts, analyzing the current research in the field of the current situation, and showing the research and ideas of this paper.Chapter One Retrospection and introspection: the development of secondary school Chinese elective courses. This chapter vertically recalls the development of Chinese elective courses and cards the implementation of elective courses abroad and of Hongkong and Taiwan areas, in order to discuss the current implementation of secondary school Chinese elective courses in China and provide with reference.Chapter Two Ideals and pursuits: the construction of secondary school Chinese elective courses. This chapter mainly states the ideals and pursuits on language construction of Chinese elective courses from four aspects: background concept, theoretical basis, basic framework and implementation requirements.Chapter Three Embarrassment and confusion: the survey of the implementation of elective courses This chapter studies and analyzes the situations and the existing problems in the experimental zones about the implementation of secondary school elective courses, perspective the constraints of the implementation of elective courses. Chapter Four Solutions and countermeasures: the proposals of the implementation of Chinese elective courses. Based on the current situation, this chapter gives some proposals and countermeasures from the following respects: orientation courses, opening courses, teaching methods and evaluation tests. It also discusses some relevant measures on how to implement secondary school elective courses better.Conclusion It points out the experience, the existing inadequacy and future research directions of this paper.
