As"the forth medium"of this age, Internet is extending into every corner of society with its special transmission ways and powerful functions. Internet exerts extensive and deep influences to human beings'political, economic, and cultural fields. With the rapid development and upgrading of internet platforms on campus, campus internet has become one of the most important ideological fronts on campus. Apart from schools, families and contemporaries, campus internet has been the forth most important factor which impacts upon university students'thoughts and behaviors. And the public opinions on campus internet have also become the newest means to influence university students'thoughts and behaviors.University is cradle of cultivating qualified socialist builders and successors, in which ideological work performs a very important function and its result is of vital significance to our socialist cause with Chinese characteristic. As the palace of knowledge and talent- intensive place, the ideological work of university is unavoidably influenced by the public opinions coming from the Internet. However, like a double-faced sword, the public opinions on campus bring both rare chances and challenges never existing before to ideological work of university. Therefore, careful and detailed studies concerning the impacts of public opinions on campus upon ideological work of university should be concentrated on. This study focuses on the characteristics and regularities of university ideological work under campus internet situation,grasps the opportunities and meets the challenges to realize university ideological work which will keep pace with the times. The study also explores the guide function of public opinions on campus internet, aiming to provide great spiritual impetus and ideological guarantee to push on the university ideological work keeping pace with the times. The thesis contains three parts:PartⅠ: This introductory part first gives a brief introduction of the connotation and extension about the public opinions on campus internet,analyzes the main carriers and the developing process of it,and summarizes the main features of it. They are prerequisites to understand and grasp the influences of it upon ideological work, and also the most important prerequisites for the effective studies on ideological work.PartⅡ: This part emphasizes and analyzes the functions and influences of the public opinions on campus internet upon university ideological work. First, the role which it plays on university ideological work is studied. It is the most important guide and external condition for ideological work, but also the meaningful way to guide the ideological work. Next, the good functions of positive public opinions on campus internet to ideological work have been analyzed. Positive public opinions not only build up the educational belief ----"respecting people's nature"for educators, but also know the university students'thoughts promptly. It can also enlarge the information which is obtained by students, and it can promote the educational pattern. Finally, the influences of negative public opinions toward the ideological work are explored. Negative public opinions on campus internet not only make some of students lose their way toward life, go to the extremes on ideology, have some harm on their body and heart, appear the trust crisis, decrease their cooperative spirit and collective honor sense, but also influence the ideological work pattern, and deepen the difficulty of work.PartⅢ: This part provides some countermeasures for the realization of efficiency of the public opinions on campus internet to ideological work. Nowadays, there are two main aspects in efficiency realization: on the one hand, the positive public opinions which can promote the ideological work should be highlighted; on the other hand, the negative public opinions which can do harm toward the ideological work should be reduced. In practice, those two hands should be paid same attention to. That means educators should try their best to establish the harmonious public opinions on campus internet, while manage to improve the creative aspects in ideological work. The thesis analyses the connotations and the features of harmonious public opinions on campus internet, then, it puts forward to the idea that proper guidance is the main method to build the harmonious public opinions on campus internet. In micro-aspect, according to the regularities of forming the internet, and through the hot issues investigation in campus, educators should carry on the"schedule setting", make good use of"silent spiral effect", cultivate actively"leaders of public opinions", change the belief of"examiner"etc. Try their best to guide the public opinions on BBS. In macro-aspect, in order to guide the BBS, educators should first examine the building of the main-stream web sites, enforce the construction of the net group, praise the main-stream in campus internet, and change the backward situation from root. Finally, the thesis puts forward to that creativity is indispensable in ideological work. In the public opinions on campus internet, ideological work must grasp the features of public opinions on campus internet, change the working belief and methods, enlarge the educational force, and increase the educational effects. In details, university should base on the ideological and political educational websites, make the websites a whole thing which can make propaganda, idea communication, providing services, improving the quality, becoming the spiritual home for students. Through setting up the belief of service, equality, self-education, educators can change the working faith and the educational methods. That means educators should make good use of the classroom, pay much attention to healthy personality education, teach students to set up the psychological line and learn to take responsibility, guide students to improve the accomplishment.
