With higher education are becoming more and more outstanding in the International competition, government and the community give more and more expectations and improve the efficiency and contribution to higher education through various means. Under the influence of college evaluation in developed countries, developing countries began to work on college ranking. In our country, China Management Academy of Scientific Institute began the first college's social ranking in 1987, and some other social organizations started working on college evaluation later on. Up to now, there are some varieties of college rankings issued by more than twenty departments. Evaluation indicators are developed from single indicator to integrated indicator system, at the same time; evaluation indicators become more and more scientific.Choosing 100 colleges as samples in Guangdong Management of Scientific Institute,Netbig LTD and China Alumni Association by using SPSS statistical software and statistical methods from 2003 to 2007. Be used the correlation coefficient R to represent the consistency of ranking results between each other. Be analyzed the consistency and differences among three ranking results and the stability of each results from a quantitative point of view.Be analyzed process and features of the indicator systems evolution for three ranking results each year. Guangdong Management of Scientific Institute: from individual evolution of research results to integrated evolution; indicator systems goes to stability and scientific; try to classify the china colleges; increase the subjective assessment indicator; increase the punishment indicator. Netbig: the one-level indicator goes to stability and the two-level indicator goes to be system; a per capita indicators instead of aggregates; insist on ranking academic fame; tried to classify the china colleges; China Alumni Association: the one-level indicator goes to stability and the two-level indicator goes to rectify; let quality and Cumulative indicators dominate; normative gradually; innovative indicators.Be used the comparative analysis to analyze the three ranking results from main body; data sources; the indicator systems and weight. Guangdong Management of Scientific Institute belongs to National scientific research institutes. There isn't academic fame indicator. Let hard targets dominate. There is information Technology Company behind Netbig and use academic fame indicator. Both input and output indicators are important. China Alumni Association only support for Network and the data sources are more extensive and open. Let Objective indicators dominate.Aiming at the questions among three indicator systems and making the recommendations. It proposes five principles: purpose, scientific, stability, comparability, non-commercial; and the social values of college evaluation: students'choice for colleges, government's macro-control, accelerating the development of colleges, leading the capital flow, establishing the world class university, promoting the development of domestic evaluation systems and establishment of university classification.
