In order to know the present teaching situation of the science classes of Shenzhen junior middle schools and enhance the teaching effect, the author has made thorough and careful analysis and research of the present science classes in the junior middle schools throughout the city. The author has investigated into the middle schools and made the questionnaire survey .Having acquired the latest data, he not only summarized the teaching experience obtained from the science class, but also analyzed the existing concrete problems. Referring to the experience and related theories, the author proposed some individual suggestions for these problems. And those suggestions have provided enriched evidence for improving the teaching work of the Shenzhen junior middle schools' science classes to be more pertinent and effective .Besides, they can also be good reference for the science classes of the junior middle schools in other areas of the country.The article is composed of five parts. The first part introduces the situation of the reform and development of the integrated science courses in and across the border. And then elaborates the background of the science course's reform in Shenzhen junior middle schools. The second part is concerned with the present teaching situation of the science courses in Shenzhen from the appraisal of teachers, students and parents, as well as curriculum resources .The author discovered that qualities of the teachers in Shenzhen junior middle schools' science branch is quite high ,and their teaching concepts meet the requirement of the curriculum reform .On the other hand, the harmonious relations of teachers and students ,the rich curriculum resources and the big support from the parents all contribute to the highly effectiveness of the teaching.The third part points out some existing problems of the science class in Shenzhen junior middle schools, such as the quite traditional classroom teaching methods , the insufficiency of the depth and breadth related to the students' study independence , the teachers' weakness in comprehensiveness of specialized knowledge , the insufficiencies of fundamental textbooks and the backwardness of the evaluation mechanism .And it analyzes the reasons of the problems. Then , on the basis of this combination of the study results of the present integrated courses and the theory of the curriculum implements , the author tries to put forward some proposals that improves the effectiveness of the teaching in science classes. The proposals are about the aspects of creating suitable teaching environment, teachers' training , teaching evaluation and so on. The last part is the appendix, which including the questionnaires and interview compendium of the students and teachers .
