Sun Weigang Educational Thought And Practice

In 1991 The Plan about the Development of National Economy and the Blueprint of the Goals in Year 2010 was released. The importance of the Quality Education was ensured legally by that document. Therefore, there is a shift from emphasizing the exams to Quality Education which focuses more on "to forge every student to develop mentally and physically". However, there are still some difficulties in the real practice, although we achieved a lot in that process. With deep insight about the life of Sun Weigang, who is an excellent math teacher in Beijing, his own way and the system of educating the students are definitely a successful way of educating. It is very important to learn more about Sun's system of educating and his practices which include the practice on teaching of math. For these things provide more valuable materials to the development of education and the practice. Also by learning more about Sun's ideas of educating, more teachers can learn how to be a good teacher and be inspired by Sun.In order to learn more about Sun's ideas of teaching of mathematics and his practical activities, we use the following methods which include the Documentation Studies, Case Studies and Interview and Discuss. The conclusions of this research are as follows:1. The Development in Full Aspects is the core idea in Sun's ideas of educating. The idea of Moral Education Is the First Thing is a part of Sun's ideas. The sincere care to the students is spread throughout Sun's practical activities.2. Teaching Systematically is the spirit of Sun's idea of teaching. To make the student into a real person is also the purpose of teaching. There are some characteristics of Sun's idea of teaching of mathematics. The goal of mathematics education in Sun's system is Make a Powerful Brain. In order to achieve that goal, two ways which includes Mastering the Knowledge Systematically and Developing the Philosophic Ideas are important attempts.Moreover, this research leaves us a lot of inspiration and enlightenment, for example, the devotion and the passion towards the education, the pursuit of the goals of education and moral education. As a teacher, we should devote ourselves to the education; focus more on the development of students. Furthermore, self-reflections are also necessary in this process.
