With the widespread of Task-based language teaching all over the world, it is recommended in high school English curriculum standards. It is now standard practice in the design of reading tasks to use a three-phase procedure, involving pre-, while and post-reading stages. However, some teachers can not have a comprehensive understanding of a task, and pay little attention to the post-reading period. This study proposes to have a study on tasks in post-reading stage , facilitated by relative theories. The writer put her instructional planning into practice in reading class, trying to enhance students' level of reading comprehension and the ability of using language.By analyzing the results of a term's experiment operated on two different classes, the writer believes that it is necessary and significant to take notice of post-reading period. Suitable tasks can serve many goals, which means they not only make students have a better understanding of the lesson, but also develop their writing abilities. Besides, students' capacity of using language can be promoted. What's more, the teacher is able to improve his or her teaching. For these reasons, I make suggestions about the design of tasks in post-reading stage and its fulfillment.
