From the task-based language teaching approach, the objectives, contents and principles of applying TBLT during the newspaper reading teaching of senior English has been defined in the research, which is based on cooperative learning, and on the practical necessities of English teaching and Senior English Curriculum. At the same time, the TBLT model for newspaper reading class has been constructed and also the principle of task designing. The experimental study has been made use of in the research to prove that the objectives, contents and principles mentioned above are reasonable and the model is effective in training the students' reading ability and cultural awareness. Finally, by using the methods and the model in English newspaper reading teaching practice, the students' newspaper reading skills and competence have, to a great extent, been improved, which is just the goal that the research plans to reach as well. |
