Textbooks as the materializing stuff are the material embodiment of the curriculum standard as well as the important resource and medium for teachers and students, in the curriculum reform it occupies an important position. With the publishing of the new curriculum program for senior high school and curriculum standard for every subject in 2003, the senior high school curriculum experiment is put into practice. Until now , textbooks of three editions have appeared. They are separately published by People's Technology Press, Jiangsu Education Press and Shandong Science and Technology Press. And they have been put into practice in Shandong Province, Guangdong Province, Hainan Province and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The teaching material diversification development that is advocated in the new curriculum brings more topics for the teaching material research. Exercise as teaching material's important component, is also one of research important contents. How to make the teaching material serve well for the teaching, how to enhance the exercise compilation quality in the teaching material, this has been an important question.Through the comparative analysis textbook's in exercise to three sets of teaching materials in the compulsory chemistry, the paper hoped that it can provide the basis to choose scientifically the new teaching material exercise for the general teachers, also provide some references for the teaching material exercise editor.The paper is composed of six parts, may be divided three principal aspects to elaborate.The first aspect puts the problem. It shows clears the origin of selecting this topic by the request of senior high school chemistry curriculum reform and the realistic situation. It has also expounded the concept limits of exercise,the literature summary as well as the research technique and the theory basis.The second aspect is the comparative analysis of the teaching material exercise, it is also the key point of the paper. This part carried on the concrete comparative analysis to the exercise in three sets of compulsory teaching materials, resting on the theories that"the stimulation to respond"on learning and cognition, as well as the request to teaching material establishment which is required by the high school chemistry new curriculum. This part has carried on the comparison separately from textbook structure, exercise quantity, type and content and so on. It also has carried on the important comparison and analysis to the inquisition exercise and STS exercise in the textbook's exercise.The third aspect is the conclusion part. In overall analysis's foundation, it summarized the exercise respective characteristic in three sets of teaching materials, and has analyzed its reason. It also proposed a kind of thought model about the establishment exercise.
