On The Literacy Oriented Textbook Exercises Of Junior High School Under The Background Of New Curriculum Standard

At the present stage of compulsory education curriculum reform,teaching research and teaching centered on the cultivation of “Subject core literacy” have been carried out in many aspects.Textbook exercise is an important carrier of teaching evaluation.Reasonable use of textbook exercise can improve students’ chemistry learning ability and also can effectively evaluate and develop students’ chemistry core literacy.In the context of the chemistry curriculum standard for compulsory education(2022 edition)(hereinafter referred to as the new curriculum standard),this paper takes the “Chemical changes of substances” as the research theme,and adopts systematic approachesto study the characteristics of chemistry exercises and then constructed the analysis framework of the literacy oriented chemistry textbooks exercises of junior high schoolintending to promote the practice of ‘literacy’ in real teaching process.By the methods of literature research,text analysis,statistical analysis and questionnaire investigation,we review the research status of core literacy and textbook exercises at home and abroad.We choose the “Chemical changes of substances”,which is one important part of the current 2012 edition of ninth-grade chemistry textbooks approved by the Ministry of Education(Moe),as the research theme,,we makes a statistical analysis on the contexts of exercises,the dimensions of chemistry core literacy level and the performance of discipline ability.As a result,comparative analysis can be conducted between the current textbook exercises and the literacy orientation requirement proposed by the new curriculum standard.It is hoped that this work will help teachers to broaden their thinking,improve the classroom teaching quality and effect then furtherly provide reference and advices for the revision and development of junior high school chemistry textbook.This study consists of five parts:The first part includs the introduction,e research background,purpose and significance of this work.Research status of the core literacy and textbook exercises at home and abroad is summarized,and the basic ideas and methods of subject research is introduced.At present,the research of chemistry exercises mainly focus on the comparison of their forms and quantities,thier hardness and functionsas well as applications.Obviously,there is a lack of the comparison among them evaluated by the concept of literacy orientation which was the urgent need that should be emphasized on in the new curriculum reform.This is the under the to pay attention to the place.The second part defines the related concepts,including “Textbook”,“Chemistry textbook exercise”,“Chemistry core literacy”.The theoretical basis of the study,such as Brumm’s theory of classification of educational objectives,PISA assessment of scientific literacy.Studies focused on the standard of chemistry learning quality and academic requirements of learning themes are carried out to lay the foundation for further analysis of the textbook under the background of the new curriculum.The third part is the study of exercises in junior middle school chemistry textbooks based on the conception of literacy orientation,The evaluationframework of exercises in junior middle school chemistry textbooks is constructed and then is used to evaluate and analyze the textbook exercises which are attached to the learning theme named “chemical changes of substance” from the perspectives of the performance indicators of subject competence,the context setting of exercises,the core literacy and its levels of chemistretc.The Fourth Part is the questionnaire survey and data analysis.According to the questionnaire present usage of textbook exercises in junior high school was analyzed.The results show that teachers pay more attention to the textbook exercises s,and their scientific and systematic correlations.However,the exercise with the conception of“literacy orientation” is less permeated in the homework after class under the background of the new curriculum standard and the policy of “Double reduction”.The fifth part is the design of accomplishment-oriented exercises and teaching cases under the background of the new curriculum standard.According to the research results,the author puts forward some suggestions on the compilation of exercises in teaching materials and the use of exercises in class,and combined with their own teaching practice,the design of the quality-oriented teaching cases and quality idea after-school exercises.The last part is a summary and reflection,the conclusion of this paper will be summarized,and analyzed the shortcomings of this study.
