Vocation schooling is an important component part of education service of our country and also is an important basis of national economy and social development."The decision of the State Council on devoting great efforts to developing vocational education"pointed out that the education reform of secondary vocation schooling must be further deepened, that the content of courses must be continuously renewed and teaching methods must be corrected based on our market and social demand, and that the criterion and system of talent training, selection and evaluation differing from general education and possessing vocation schooling feature must be progressively established. In our country, the development course of secondary vocation schooling is much shorter than conventional senior secondary education, and a scientific and standard curriculum system of vocation schooling has not been formed. Owing to having constantly used the curriculum model of conventional senior secondary school, the basic culture courses possessing their respective feature which can satisfy the social demand and students'development demand have not evolved. For a long time, the chemistry course of Zaozhuang Industrial School has been affected by traditional curriculum model and exists the following problems: the curriculum idea is outmoded and the instruction aim is unitary; book knowledge teaching is overdone while aptitude training is underestimated; the content of course is too difficult to tally with the students'actual situation and also lacks integration with specialized courses, social production and real life; the mode of teaching is dull and one-way mouth-to-ear instruction dominates exclusively classroom; curriculum evaluation is lopsided and ignores students'all-round development.A chemistry school-based curriculum possessing Zaozhuang Industrial School's feature and better applicability has been developed in view of Zaozhuang Industrial School's actual situation, and more attention has been paid to our social and students'development demonds. This school-based curriculum emphasizes the integration of theoretical knowledge with social life and production practice as well as the contact of basic science with involved specialized subjects. Meanwhil, some feasible methods to solve the problems existing in chemistry course have been approached.Four parts are included:1. Documentary research method has been used to gather, study and analyse the literature materials concerning school-based curriculum, and on the basis of which research background, current situation, aim and significance, basic concepts and theory involved are made clear and also are research route, ideas and methods determined.2. Questionnaire method has been used to inquire and analyse the students'chemistry- learning demands of Zaozhuang Industrial School, and to dissect the current situation of chemistry course, and on the basis of which the basic points of school-based curriculum development are determined.3. Through mutual research activities of students, teachers, specialists and teaching administrators, a curriculum development model termed objective model designed by American educationist R.W.Tyler has been used for reference to develop and practise the chemistry school-based curriculum in the steps as follows: a course objective is laid down, course contents are selected, a teaching programme is drawn up, teaching materials are worked out, the school-based curriculum is implemented, and a course evaluation system is formed.4. The development and implementation process of chemistry school-based curriculum has been reviewed and some proposals concerning school-based curriculum development of Zaozhuang Industrial School have been suggested.
