The Xiangxi Miao Traditional Ethics And Its Modern Value

The traditional ethics and morality of the Chinese minorities belong to the splendid mental treasure of the Chinese nation. It is one of the great sources for the building up of socialist mental civilization, which calls for a deeper study on this area. Miao nationality in the west Hunan, as a member of the great Chinese family, has developed its own excellent ethical and moral tradition in the long run of history. A systematical study on such traditional ethics will contribute a great deal to the mental improvement and establishment of new countryside of the Miao region. It encourages the Miao people to unite irotimately,to be persistent,brave and dauntless,to respect and love to the elders and youngers,to conduct with good farm and sincerity,to have a clear view to love and hate,and to respect,protect nature.For the succession and development of Miao ethics, firstly, we should analyze and refine it critically before reception. Secondly, upon the reception, innovation is needed for its re-establishment and, by way of which neo-ethical system is expected to be built up for the necessity of socialist marketing economy.Finally,during the course of re-establishment, we should coordinate the Miao traditional virtues and marketing economy, strengthen the Miao people's confidence,and endeavor to set up a steady community, prosperous economy and harmonized relationship of nationalities.
