As Information Times is coming, information technology (IT) enormously affects people's life, study and work. So all over the world pay more attention to it. In China, senior IT is required course. Its task is to train labors' basic qualities and to lay the foundation for IT talented persons. The core target of new curriculum reform aims for each pupil's development. It focuses on teachers, class, class-teaching effective research. In order to improve senior IT teaching effectiveness, we should keep pace with the times to renewal teaching ideas, to reference advanced teaching experiences, to definite teaching target, to select suited teaching approaches, mediums and methods. And we should promote teachers' professional qualities, develop students' characteristics and specialties, abundantly unearth students' creative potential capacity. Only in this way, we could instantly promote IT teaching quality, train students' IT qualities, adapt high-speed developing need of information society. But now, there are so many problems in our senior IT teaching, e.g. schools neglectfulness, theory unclearness, teachers insufficient lesson preparation, procedure impracticality, students' activities badly arrangement, untimely students' assessment.All the problems seriously restrict to promote teaching effectiveness. Based on the background and problems, this paper researches on senior IT teaching theories and practices. According to analyse and conclude teaching effective problems, it proposes strategies on how to improve senior IT teaching effectiveness, in order to promote IT teaching effectiveness and help teachers promote IT teaching theory and practical abilities. Finally, we could to promote students' informational qualities.There are five parts of the article.Part One: Introduction. It briefly introduces senior IT teaching effectiveness study reason, target and meaning, home and abroad senior IT education brief, research idea and theory foundation, and analyse effectiveness, teaching effectiveness and substantial results.Part Two: Senior IT teaching condition and questions. By analysing and concluding senior IT teaching research resources and questionnaire investigation outcome for students' learning, we find out the problems of influencing teaching effectiveness in senior IT teaching.Part Three: The analysis for causes of low-effectiveness. It's from two aspects, inner &outside factors, dissecting the causes.Part Four: The strategies & steps for promoting senior IT teaching effectiveness. It offers the strategies & steps to promote senior IT teaching effectiveness from five aspects, in accordance with the state of senior IT teaching.Part Five: Ending. The suggestions are that we stress & attach the deeply research on teaching effectiveness.
