For Local Economic Construction And The University Core Competitiveness

In the dynamic environment of today's era with super competition, competition shows a dynamic,complex and interactive feature.Scientific and technology revolution,economic globalization and internationalization of the market not only make competition go from closed to open and become a centre of society but also changed the competitive environment,competitive conditions and competitive rules of colleges and universities.As the main body of competition,colleges and universities of contemporary China face four major challenges:the functional challenge——how to make contributions to social and economic development,market challenge,the challenge of greater regional imbalance of higher education and the challenge of greater employment structure contradiction.At the same time,Colleges and universities of contemporary China have a lot of contradictions,difficulties and problems of their own.The paper researches on the core competence of colleges and universities with the method of investigation,rational thinking and empirical research.First of all,the paper makes the concept of core competence of colleges and universities clear,and also points out that the core competence of colleges and universities is a core competence system which makes colleges and universities gain sustainable survival and development through the integration of advantages in their organizational structure and campus culture based on their professional and technical capacity and special human resources.It contains the creative educational productivity based on human resources and academic products,the adaptive management of the environment based on the integration of resources and transformation of products and campus culture based on the college and university spirit and education philosophy.Chapter Two talks about the theoretical basis and analytical methods of the core competence of colleges and universities:the theory of strategic management, competitive intelligence and complex system,formation analysis——the analysis of competitive situation,internal mining——the value chain analysis,dynamic comparison——bench marking and static comparison——competence rating.Chapter Three first does some theoretical research from the perspective of the interactivity between college and local economics and then use the case of Stanford University and Silicon Valley and the case of the Yang ling Agriculture High-tech demonstration zone and colleges and universities in Xi'an to do practical research.Finally,the paper carries out empirical research of the core competence of colleges and universities in Tianjin from the perspective of orientation of serving the economy of Binhai New Area.
