Guangdong Province Migration Cause Analysis

Guangdong Province had always been the leader in the reform and open of China. In the last 20 years, resulted from the good geographical location, as well as the flexible and effective policies, a huge number of floating populations around the country migrated to Guangdong Province. So the migration reason for those floating populations, related factors, and the problem of the lack of migrated labors in Guangdong Province, would be analyzed intensively in this thesis.The basic conclusions of this thesis were as follow. Firstly, the floating populations had been an important part of the whole population of Guangdong Province. They were a perfect match with the economy of Guangdong Province, played an important role in its progress. Secondly, the maximization model of the net income of rural family, which was based on the theory that the benefit difference of different labor force arrangement resulted in the migration, revealed that agriculture business will get priorities from rural families, and enough labor force would be guaranteed, then the surplus ones would be arranged in non-agriculture industry in Guangdong. Thirdly, cultivated land, uncertainty in their employment, high living cost in the city and residence registration system played a very important role in the migration decision. The floating populations wouldn't give up their cultivated land easily, because of both the certain income brought by it and risk in their employment in Guangdong Province. At last, the problem of lack of migrated labors in Guangdong Province could be attributed to the sharp increase of the labor force demand. And this kind of lack had much to do with its structure.
