The aim of this work is to highlight the dynamics related to the migratory phenomenon in the People’s Republic of China. The dynamics related to the surge of the so-called liudong renkou can’t be understood without being aware of the macro dynamics that influence the development of this Country. The combination of natural factors as well the economic policies shaped-Chinese territory and set the field for the largest migration of human history so far:by the combination of this factor the analysis of data confirm the trend in which the rate of urbanization coincide with the economic growth.Urbanization and economic development didn’t spread homogeneously, rather have been focusing on a precise area of the country, the rich coastal area with the main pivotal areas of the lower Yangtze river and the Pearl river delta, with the Guangdong province that catalyzed the massive migration movement occurred in these years. The reason behind this work is to undermine the dynamics that have created the current situation among the Chinese population in which remains and, further, have been growing the differences and the divide among different categories in the society. In order to investigate the migratory phenomenon, is needed a combination of economic factors as well political choices:throughout official data and by dredging the existent literature on the topic emerge the historic trend of the rate of urbanization as well the urban rural disparities, followed by the related regional disparities which set the field for the migratory movement; nevertheless it must to be conscious of the difficulty to get proper data because the volatile nature of the topic itself. The case of China, however, is different from the experience of other countries because the household registration system, hukou, which can apply to this country migration models usually reserved to the international migration movements. The historic study of the hukou system highlight first put high restrictions on mobility during the planned economic period while today still place set high difference in terms of social security and eligibility criteria for those haven’t a proper hukou.Despite the efforts made by the government to narrow the gap trough working permits card as well the recent policies for pension portability the feeling by being on the field is that there is a wide gap to fill especially for what concerns the off the record work dynamics which automatically exclude any possibility to access to social security.
