Along with the accelerated pace of modernization and economic globalization, urbanization trend has become increasingly evident. The minorities in city, as a vulnerable group, in terms of modernization, urbanization experiencing a tide of economic, cultural, social life, and other aspects of the changes and development. Modernization and urbanization brings them both opportunities and challenges. How to achieve coordination between the tradition and modernation, inheritance and development, has become the prominent problem in front of them.Take Qingzhou city, Shandong Province's largest Muslim group, for example.As an entry point, the thesis aims to reflect the characteristics in economy of urban Muslim communities .Meanwhile, through the ecnomy to show Muslim's social life in urban community.The thesis is divided into five chapters. The Chapter one is the introduction. The author extends a series of general picturesque backgrounds, such as the reason, the meaning and the perspective of the research, also the related printings and publications, and the basic orientations and the approaches of the research as well. In Chapter two, By tracing the history source of Qing Zhou Hui nationality, introducing its population distribution , livelihood way, and economy cultural life, the author has done a summary to Qingzhou Hui nationality. The Chapter three, which is the main body of the whole thesis, has carried out all-direction introduction on author's field place-DongHouPo community, and done a detailed exposition to its main economy industry -Butchery. The author has carried on an interpretation for the economic life of DongHouPo community, expounded an impact of Islam over the Hui nationality economic life, and displayed the Hui nationality's economy debugging and reconstruction in the context of the modernization. The Chapter five is the summary of the whole thesis. Based on the case study, through the analysis of its economic life and changes, the author has summed up the only way to modernization - inheritance and development for the Hui nationality community in city.
