Poetry is the original and basic form of literature for each nation,which intensively reflects the social life.Among the Chinese literature,poetry culture has strong effect on Chinese offspring with its particular affinity.But,nowadays,with the rapid development of the society,it has been extremely far away from the year of which poem composition is flourishing. Children always become bewildered to such rich Chinese culture.As a teacher on the fundamental step of education,I have felt the grave responsibilities when I see the true situation of Chinese culture.Therefore,in my teaching,I obey to the idea that is "people should come first" and try to do some educational research about the Chinese poem teaching.In my opinion,the reason why the teaching quality of poem is not satisfied is that the teaching method in class is dull.As a result,students are not willing to follow teachers to learn and they can not understand at all.They haven't acquired the learning method in class.Consequently,it's difficult for them to learn by themselves at home.The specific psychological characteristics and cognitive ability of pupils call for the varied teaching methods which can attract them first and then make them be interested in poetry.At last,they can taste the poem atmosphere and feel the greatness and beauty of the words in poems.So,I try to use different kinds of teaching methods about poems in my class such as the method of imagination,combination and contrast. The teaching method of imagination means that pupils try to comprehend the meaning of some words in a poem with the help of their own experience and the learning method of words they have acquired.Most of the poems appeared in primary school's textbooks are usually easy to be understood.Therefore,after knowing the meaning of some words which may be hard for them to understand,the general meaning of the whole poem becomes clear.Combination means to direct pupils to feel the atmosphere of poems with the help of the other subjects' knowledge. The expressive ability of pupils in lower grade is so limited that they can not fully express all of their true opinions.At this time,some learning forms like drawings can be their good partners and the learning process becomes easier more.During the middle grade,understanding poems doesn't only mean what have written in a poem,but also the sense that the poet wants to express when he composed the poem.Even the latter is more important for pupils that they should know.It's undoubtful that music is the best way to express feeling and cultivate poetry atmosphere.When the teaching difficulty can not be realized,a suitable song concerned with the poem may be the sense bridge between pupils and poets which can lead pupils into the poem.One of the traits about the experimental textbooks of compulsory education is to pay more attention to the theme of each unit.All the articles in one unit will go around a same theme,so does the poem.At the same time of cultivating pupils' thinking ways,teachers should encourage pupils to try to compare the differences of poems in different angles.Contrast means to let pupils find out the differences between poets' life expcrience and their composition background and gradually try to understand the different meanings of poems by gathering relative materials in varied ways.The amazing words which a poet includes in a poem can be conveyed in this way,too.What's more,the poem's teaching also depends on the support of both schools and pupils' parents.In pupils' spare time,they can copy some beautiful poems or take part in some poetry contests in order to get close with poems,Let them know that poem is not far from their study and life.Being familiar with poems because of positive approach and being interested in poems because of familiarity about poems.Classical poetry will go into pupils' heart and enrich their life one day on the basis of the existence of their enthusiasm and fondness.
