Scouting was founded in 1907, beginning with 20 boys and an experimental camp at Brownsea Island, near Poole in Dorset, England. After that, scouting movement has spread to all around the world, including China. In 1912, the first scout boy team was founded in China. During its existence in China, it experienced three phases—imitation, development, dissimilation. At first, China's scouting imitated the western countries completely.Gradually, it had its own characteristics. After Kuomintang's unifying the country, he concentrated on popularizing the scout education and made it a tool to instruct the youngsters to behave well and serve the Kuomintang Party, which also made the China's scouting movement being known to the world. After Kuomintang retreated from the China Mainland, scouting also leaved the China Mainland.Up to now, there are more than 28 million Scouts, young people and adults, male and female, in 160 countries and territories. Some 300 million people have been Scouts, including prominent people in every field. That proves that Scouting is meaningful to the youngsters. That is to say, it may be helpful to China's education improvement. The whole thesis has three parts:(1) Introduce what the scouting is, how and why it was founded, and its spreading to other countries.(2) When and how the scouting was founded in China, how it developed and became a tool of Kuomingtang, and when it disappeared in China Mainland.(3) Scouting has some kind of enlightenment to China'education.
