The mathematical outstanding students are who have gift of mathematics, dense interest or good learning motivation, good mathematics learning methods, learning mathematics efficiently, and remarkable achievement.The thesis attempts to adopt the methodology of case study that a research style of "quality", in terms of mathematics learning. Three students of Senior Grade One from Tianjin NO.1 Middle School were chosen as the chief study targets. Through testing, questionnaire, as well as interview study targets, has collected a large amount of information refer to cognition and non- cognition such as learning attitude, motivation, behavior, method, efficiency, influence factors and meta-cognition. On the above research, got conclusions as following:In cognition, they are good at observing mathematics object and memorizing mathematics knowledge. They have good mathematics comprehension. In non-cognition, they have explicit motive, strong interest and indomitable will power in mathematics learning, good mathematic learning-habits, and effective learning-patterns. In meta-cognition, they are good at supervising and controlling the process of solving problem, having the consciousness and habit of planning, supervising, adjusting, evaluating in the process of learning.There are three types of mathematic outstanding students, including introversion,extroversion, and mixed type. By the findings, teachers can take different measures to train the learners with suitable and proper learning strategies and develop a good personality to enhance the training of learning strategies, which eventually promote the learning outcomes.There are four factors contribute to form mathematic outstanding students. First, students interested with mathematics learning. Second, students have effective learning-patterns and good mathematic learning-habits. Third, family education and family environment also influence the students. Last, mathematics teachers pay attention to the students.Finally, based on these results, this study put forward the applied suggestions which concern teaching mathematic outstanding students. In teaching, the development of and the cultivation of student's thinking is emphasized in order to arouse student's drive in learning mathematics.
