In recent years, the higher vocational education research and practice had got substantial result in our country. But there is a fundamental problem still exists– the diversity between cultivation effect and the demand of market. The training target of higher vocational colleges is cultivating high-quality technology-oriented professional personnel who faces the front line of production, management and service and has the synthesis professional ability. In a sense, the vocational education is the employment education. But at present, the majority of vocational colleges'students compete with the ordinary university's undergraduate students in the same employment domain. But the high-quality technology-oriented professional personnel cannot be found in most of the vocational colleges, although the society has a great demand of them. The reformation of higher vocational education aims to solve this problem.At present, most of the higher vocational students feel blindness about the occupation they will be engaged in. They are not clear about their own characters and abilities, the vocations which are closely related to their major, whether be engaged in their majors as well as how to make their own occupation plan. The research of higher vocational students'career tendency can help them understand themselves, explore the occupation and know the society. The research of consistency among vocational students'major,job selection and career tendency and the current situation of students'future orientation, will guide the students'study and employment, help them establish correct conception of selecting job and choose them job sensibly in the fierce employment competition.The thesis summarize the viewpoint and research of career tendency theory at home and abroad at first, then make a research by Holland career tendency questionnaire and a portion of questions form future orientation questionnaire which edited by Zhang Ling ling. The author carried on the investigation to more than 500 vocational students form five vocational colleges, and analyzed the gender and grade characteristics of the vocational students'career tendency, the exploration and commitment characteristics on the future education and career domain, the consistency characteristics among major, job selection and career tendency, and the influence of the consistency to the students future orientation. The mainly conclusion: 1. The current vocational students distributing in six kinds of career tendency is extremely non-uniform. According to the population: Social, enterprising, artistic, conventional, investigative and realistic.2. The vocational students'career tendency exist gender difference: the number of realistic and investigative male students is more than the female student; the number of artistic, social and conventional female students is more than the male student, the enterprising students do not have the gender difference.3. The vocational students'career tendency does not have the grade difference.4. The exploration in the future education and career domain is higher than the commitment; the exploration and commitment in the future career domain is higher than in the future education domain.5. There is no gender difference in the exploration of future education for vocational students. For the exploration of future career, the male students in grade two are obviously higher than the female student. There is no grade difference in the exploration in future education and career.6. The commitment of female students in future education is higher than male. The commitment of grade one and two students in future career is higher than grade three.7. The consistency between major and job selection, job selection and career tendency are higher than the consistency between major and career tendency, the consistency among major, job selection and career tendency shows the lowest level.8. Exploration: vocational students who have the consistency of major and job selection are higher than who have not. The female students of grade three show higher level when their major consists with job selection as well as job selection consist with career tendency. The male students who have consistency between major and career tendency are higher than female.9. The education commitment: The four kinds of consistency do not have extremely influence on vocational students. The female students in grade three have higher education commitment when their major consists with job selection. The male students have higher education commitment when their job selection consists with career tendency. The male students in grade one show higher education commitment when their major consists with career tendency. 10. The career commitment: the male students show more commitment when their major consists with job selection. The grade one students show more commitment than grade two when their job selection consists with career tendency, major consists with career tendency.
