The Benedict Cultural Patterns Theory

China society is in the transition from the traditional agriculture civilization to the modern industrial civilization in the construction of reform and opening. Chinese people encounter new living style and cultural values coming out from tradition. Every Chinese people feel the truth. Whether cultural pattern is the best in the transformation, whether creed and principle of cultural pattern deserves our use for reference, what is the basis and criteria to choose cultural pattern, this is the purpose of my paper.This paper discusses Benedict's theory of to study human's basic living way. General restrictive function of culture pattern as social internal mechanism and schemata has some restrictive function to the activities of mankind, social movement and the development of the society. Evolution mechanism of history of culture pattern is of great theoretical and realistic significance. Culture pattern make a non-negligible function when human enter course of higher society .How to choose development orientation of culture pattern face the great challenge during the transition of China and process of economic globalizationOn the basis of absorbing previous achievements, the purpose of the paper to promote construction of culture pattern, advance the innovation of culture, shape modern aesthetic qualities of culture in line with modern and international practice. This is not only the necessity of society development but also the need of coming into modern powerful countries in the world.
