Emergency has become a hot issue of the study since "SARS" in 2003. Moreover, a new trend of the study is caused by "Wenchuan Earthquake" in 2008 and the influenza A H1N1 in 2009. The managing theory for emergency of the government and enterprises paves the way for the study on emergency in colleges. Emergency in colleges has been altering the previous guiding line and the old working way of the ideological and political education so that people of the ideological and political education should urgently innovate by heritable and summing the experience. Taking the particular situation into consideration, the thesis of the author, with the reference from the literature, deals with the profound analysis and study of the role of the ideological and political education in emergency in colleges. As a result, the scientific way that how people of the ideological and political education solve emergency and how they reduce the damage from the emergency to a minimum degree is provided.The methods of study are applied in this thesis are the literature review, the research of related theories, the analysis of comparison, the case study and practice. There are six chapters in the thesis. In the first chapter, the author of the thesis reviews the current study on the role of the ideological and political education in emergency in colleges so that the improvement and the plausible innovation of the study are offered. The related theories of and causes emergency in colleges are analyzed briefly in the second chapter. The author, in the third chapter, studies the role of the ideological and political education in colleges, which provides the outline of the thesis. The significance of the education, which is to cultivate subjects to have harmonious awareness in case of emergence which is in its budding, is analyzed in the fourth chapter. In fifth chapter, the author of the thesis researches into the role of the education that safeguards the stability in colleges for the promotion of harmony when emergence erupted. In the sixth chapter, it is the analysis that is for the role of the education to integrate the resource of colleges for the recovery of normal orders when emergence is settled.The innovation in the thesis is as following. Firstly, with respect to the insufficient attention to the study that the employment of the education is an important strategy to solve emergence in colleges, efforts for change are made in the thesis. Secondly, the focus is on the role of the education to cultivate subjects to have harmonious awareness in case of emergence which is in its budding. Thirdly, the author further studies the oriental role of the education in emergence in colleges. Fourthly, the establishment of control mechanism for pre-feedback can improve the mechanism of information feedback of the education.
