Chengdu Radio And Tv University Development And Reform Research

To expand the higher education scale and speed up the training personnel, Radio & TV university was founded in the 20th century, meeting with the status of the shortage of talent caused by the 70's "Cultural Revolution". For 30 years since that, the university has been always reflected the country's social conditions and education policies. However, current expansion of higher education scale, the enlargement of network-learning and the rise of vocational and technical college give a great impact on its development. Chengdu Radio & TV university, a provincial one, has encountered the bottleneck in fierce market competition. CDRTVU can not obtain sustainable development, if we still follow the old pattern of development and rely solely on development policies from education authorities. The purpose of this study firstly is to extract experience abroad which based on the analysis of the theory and practice of foreign Open Universities, secondly to discuss the development model of the theory and practice of Radio & TV universities since they are founded, and finally to find out a set of development models suitable for CDRTVU by combining the advanced experience of the open universities at home and abroad.This study centered on "Reform of CDRTV development model" and remarks it in five parts. The first part sets out the research background of this research, ,the status of study of development model of Open University abroad, and the theory used in this paper, the main research contents and methods. The second part of the study states the development process and the current status of it. The third part introduces the domestic and the abroad Open University experience of different development models and sums up the experience for the reform and development of CDRTVU for reference. The fourth part is the most important part of the study, in this part I will put forward a reform measure, which includes actively participating in education programs of Chengdu education authorities and personnel training mode and management mode of CDRTVU. Finally, the study will discuss the necessary measures to promote the reform the development model of CDRTVU.
