Nowadays, the technology develops rapidly and the economy relies on technology more and more. In this case, the development of region science and technology is proposed the agenda. As an important main body of region technology, only the higher education better adapts to development of region science and technology, then it can contribute power for the region technology.After carried on the analysis one by one to six factors (level of region science and technology, industrial structure, region natural resource and characteristic of ecological environment, foundation of region technology progress, environment of region innovation, strategy of area development) what affect development of the Shanxi region technology, we may see that the level of Shanxi region science and technology is low, the development is bad. The Shanxi higher education is an element of supporting the Shanxi region technology progress; it is an important method to develop Shanxi higher education. In the future, the breakthrough point to the development of Shanxi region science and technology will be the impulse of Shanxi higher education to the region science and technology.This article discusses about the relationship between Shanxi higher education and region development of technology and science. Through analysis of adaptation, which point that the inharmonious between Shanxi higher education and region development of technology and science, and accordingly give the answers to these questions. From the inside of higher education, the harmonious between educational scale of Shanxi higher education and region social development is not so good. It's unsymmetrical between funds for running high education and general region technology and science investment in Shanxi Province. The infrastructure is weak in Shanxi higher education, which is inharmonious with region economy development status. Staffing is deficit in Shanxi higher education, so that the situation of outflow of talent couldn't suit region technology and science development. Policy supporting power to Shanxi higher education is not enough and couldn't suit the situation of region development strategy. In general, the quality, level of Shanxi higher education could not catch the step of region technology and science development, and these inadaptations result in the slow development of Shanxi region technology and science. For suiting the development of region technology and science better, Shanxi higher education should solve these 5 problems:it's very urgent for the government to support Shanxi higher education, and solves their actual problems; the first task of Shanxi higher education is talent attraction and talent training; enhance knowledge innovation so as to support region technology and science development; improve scientific research achievement transformation further in Shanxi universities; improve in playing a role of universities technological region in our Province region technology and science system.The region science's and technology's development proposed a new request to the higher education, it is that higher education not only need adapt to diverse demands of the region technology progress process, but must display its superiority in supporting and leading science and technology, and promote region technology progress.
