Academic procrastination is the delaying in the learning situation. Students have the intention of completing learning tasks, but show no behaviors consistent with the intention of learning; Academic procrastination usually leads to substandard learning outcomes, and often accompanied by anxiety, depression, disappointment and other negative emotional experience.《The Academic Procrastination Questionnaire for College Students》and《the Causes of Academic Procrastination Questionnaire for College students》were used to investigate the current situation and the reasons for academic procrastination among students in Normal University. A sum of 552 college students from Hebei Normal University, Hangzhou Normal University, Fujian Normal University and Zhangzhou Teachers College took part in the investigation.On the basis of investigation and personal interview, and with references on academic procrastination, a 6-times group intervention program for breaking the academic procrastination was designed .Combine the degree of academic procrastination with the willingness of attending group intervention, 12 participants were selected and being randomly divided into two groups , 6 participants took part in the intervention group to receive group intervention; the other 6 students in the control group didn't accept any intervention.《The Academic Procrastination Questionnaire for College Students》,《Academic Self-Efficacy Scale》,《College Students'Time Management Disposition》and《Emotion Regulation Questionnaire》were used Before and after the group intervention to manifest the effect of the group intervention, the results showed:1, At present, Academic procrastination is very popular among college students in Normal University. Procrastination in autonomous learning tasks was more serious than procrastination in non-autonomous learning tasks (i.e. preparing for test and assignments completion) 2, Male students showed more procrastination in assignments completion than Females students; Arts Students showed more tendency to procrastinate than science students in Self-regulated Learning tasks.3, There is an upward tendency for academic procrastination among students in Normal University , the degree of academic procrastination of students in Normal University increases year by year from grade one to grade three , and then remarkably decreased at the grade four. 46.6% students who attended this investigation demonstrated great strong willingness to overcome their procrastination condition.4, The main reasons which caused the academic procrastination among college students in Normal University were personal factors, including the ability of time management, learning motivation, laziness, perfectionist tendencies and emotional influence; The difficulty of learning tasks and other tasks'which unrelated with academic learning competition and interference were reported to be the important objective factors.5, The designed group intervention programs could effectively reduced the degree of academic procrastination among students in Normal University, and enhance their academic self-efficacy and time management tendency.
