During many years of educational practice, it is thought by many teachers that there are discrepancies among junior middle students of different genders in terms of studying physics. Due to the characteristics of physics itself and the gender difference in physiology and psychology, there are differences among boys and girls in comprehending of physics concepts, the experiment and exploring ability, the analytical capability, and also in the learning habits and learning methods. The effect of thinking set, especially, makes the differences of learning physics among middle school students takes on multi-dimensionality.Through literature consultation, questionnaire survey, informal discussion, score analysis and etc, the gender differences in junior middle school physics learning is elaborated in the research. And also the teaching strategy, which can promote co-development of students with different genders by constructing independent, cooperative and efficient classroom under the new curriculum background, is proposed. There are three parts in this research:The first part: literature review. Through review of the literatures in pedagogy, psychology, sociology and physics teaching, the common views of experts on the gender differences is summarized and anatomized linking with the author's educational practice. Also, the interior and foreign present research status is stated briefly. The second part: investigation. In this research, questionnaire survey and informal discussion are carried out in all physics teachers and students in Grade 8 and Grade 9 from No. 15 middle school in Zaozhuang, Shandong province. After that, the data for questionnaires is collected and analyzed. The gender differences in middle school physics learning thoroughly elaborated in the investigation from macroscopic to microscopic, from the general understanding to specific performance, and from learning process to studying results. The third part: effective teaching strategy. According to the modern educational theories of cooperative learning, constructivism, and multiple intelligences and so forth, "Five-Link Classroom Teaching Mode by Voluntary Learning" is proposed and the effective teaching strategy, which can promote all around development of students with different genders, is also established. Finally, some advices for family education are offered to parents connecting with teaching practice.
