This paper is to study that how to apply the goal oriented interacting design method to develop English courseware. We give an introduction of the goal oriented interacting design theory, propose the main steps to develop English courseware, and show the advantages of this approach. Explicitly, we first discuss the feasibility of using the goal oriented interacting design method to develop English courseware based on demand analysis and the research of the existing theory. Then we address the precise steps of this method. Finally, we give the evaluation and talk about its future by an example.This work is the first time where the goal oriented interacting design method is used to develop English courseware. The thoughts and theories of software engineering are also evolved here, and we put through the main steps of English courseware development.Throughout this paper, we use three interacting design elements (persona, target and situation) to guide the development. The development processes include design, programming, testing and modifying. Moreover, we do lots of researches to improve the courseware's usability.
